Project overview
Leicestershire Police set out to cut the carbon footprint of its Enderby headquarters estate while insulating the force from volatile energy prices. The answer was a small ground-mounted solar farm within the HQ grounds, believed to be a UK policing first.
We delivered the scheme with single-point responsibility for programme, cost, safety and quality: enabling works and groundworks, frame installation, panel erection, DC and AC electrical infrastructure, grid interface, testing and commissioning.
The challenge
Every delivery, lift and excavation had to be planned around 24/7 operational policing, restricted access and vetting requirements, with the live HQ distribution network kept in service throughout.
Our solution
A phased programme built around the estate's operating pattern, with pre-vetted labour, tightly controlled logistics windows and staged electrical isolations agreed with the client's estates and IT teams.
